Supply Chain and Procurement, ESG 73

Best practice in strategy execution
Christine Bruce, Head of Strategic Procurement, British Council
At ESG 73, hosted by the British Council, members held a ‘strategy exchange’ – each taking the floor and summarizing their organisation’s strategic priorities how supply chain and procurement will drive success. Key network themes for 2010 emerged from this exchange, such as managing shared and outsourced services, risk management, the globalisation of processes and consumer driven supply. A discussion on best practice in strategy making and execution followed, drawing on multiple private and public case studies. A key message was that successful strategy making is about Prioritisation, and execution success requires Monitoring, Measuring and Publicising progress.

Thank you
A very interesting discussion. Learning the objectives of others, across industries has given me greater confidence that we are on the right track.
Our priorities
This session will set the broad agenda for our network this year, based on members key priorities for transformation. Will be interesting to see how this, and last year's priorities compare.
